Part-Time Weekend Barista

STEMspot is not your typical coffee shop—we’re a mini museum for kiddos and a warm, joyful café where families come to make memories, relax, and feel supported. We’re looking for a barista who can thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment while still delivering warmth, connection, and accuracy with every drink.

We’re seeking someone who:

  • Makes drinks quickly, consistently, and accurately, even under pressure

  • Is warm, friendly, and genuinely enjoys interacting with families and young children

  • Can multitask—chatting with guests while keeping drinks flowing

  • Works well as part of a supportive, collaborative team

  • Is energetic, focused, and calm in a lively environment

  • Is comfortable stepping outside the traditional barista role to read a story, lead an activity, restock, tidy, or connect with families as needed

  • Loves being part of a space where memory-making and parent-community support are at the heart of everything

This is a great role for someone who enjoys both the craft of coffee and the joy of being around families with little ones.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare espresso beverages, coffee, tea, matcha, and specialty drinks

  • Provide warm, friendly customer service

  • Willing to jump in and help on play floor or with classroom enrichment activities

  • Keep the café clean, stocked, and organized

  • Assist with opening and closing duties

  • Work efficiently during busy weekend hours

  • Help create the welcoming experience STEMspot is known for

We're Looking For Someone Who Is:

  • Experienced as a barista (we require at least 6 months experience-will provide training)

  • Friendly, outgoing, and dependable

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

  • Detail-oriented and organized

  • Passionate about hospitality and customer service

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Food safety certification (preferred)

  • CPR and Allergy Safe certifications (preferred)

Position Details

  • Part-time weekend position

  • Minimum commitment of 8–12 hours each weekend

  • Training: Late August

  • Start Date: September

Weekend Birthday Party Host

Love birthdays? Love making people smile?

We're looking for enthusiastic, high-energy team members to help create unforgettable birthday celebrations for families at STEMspot. Our Party Hosts keep events running smoothly so parents can relax, enjoy the day, and make memories with the people they love.

This is a fun, active role that's perfect for someone who enjoys delivering high customer service, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and loves bringing celebrations to life.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome birthday families and guests

  • Set up and reset party spaces

  • Keep parties running on schedule

  • Serve food and beverages as needed

  • Lead simple activities and assist with transitions

  • Keep party areas clean and organized throughout the event

  • Help ensure every family has a stress-free, memorable celebration

  • Pivot and improvise as needed when challenges arise

Position Details

  • Work 1–2 birthday parties each weekend

  • Approximately 4–8 hours per weekend
