WHAT’S A FOUNDING MEMBERSHIP? Founding memberships are offered as a way for early supporters of our small business to kick-off sales before we have our grand opening. As a founding member, you will have access to soft opening events and be asked for your feedback and suggestions as we go through our first week in business. By securing your membership early, you’re saying “we believe in you” and “we believe in the value of this space.” So when you have that first latte, or go through our check-in process, or use our bathroom, or find a place to plug in your laptop, we want you to tell us what’s great and where we can improve, because afterall, this space is for you! In exchange for committing to a membership early, you will be recognized on our founding member wall: your family will get to create a piece of art that we will display and your kiddos can look at proudly each time they visit.

CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE PERKS?

• Unlimited Open Play: As a member, you can visit for open play times anytime you’d like on weekdays and weekends (we suggest reserving ahead of time to guarantee a spot). Normal open play admission is $25 and $15 for a sibling (adults are free)—so it’s a great deal to be able to visit as much as you’d like for a flat monthly rate! During open play, children should feel free to explore our ball wall, magnet wall, air kinetics station, extra large sensory bin, movement zone, big building blocks, STEAM wall, and sensory cave.

  All our open play sessions also include a story-time, craft station, experiment, or other special pop-up activity each day. We rotate and change our offerings based on the season, staffing and booking so you'll be able to visit multiple times a week and always have a fresh experience!

• Open Play is Monday (12pm-5pm), Tuesday-Friday (8:30am-5pm), Saturday (8:30am-12:30pm) & Sunday (3pm-5pm)

• Lock-in Monthly Rate:

  • The founding membership monthly rate is lower than our regular membership rate and will be locked-in forever—so even if our rates increase over the next couple years, you will always keep the discounted founding membership rate as a thank you for supporting us pre-opening.

  • 1 child $99/month (Regular: $120/month)

  • 2 children $120/month (Regular: $160/month)

  • 3+ children $150/month (Regular: $200/month)

• Members receive 15% off birthday parties, classes, co-working, events, camps AND 10% all café purchases and STEMspot merchandise.

• Recognition: As a way to thank you and recognize your support, each founding member family will get to create a piece of artwork for our “Founding Member Wall.” Your kiddos will enjoy seeing something they made displayed each time they visit.

WHAT AGE CHILDREN NEED A MEMBERSHIP?

You do not need to purchase based on number of children in your family—instead, consider the ages and how much each child will use the space. STEMspot’s Open Play is designed for children ages 0-8 and admission is charged for ages 6 months to 8. Adults are free.

• Older Siblings as Helpers

  • Children aged 9 and older are welcome to accompany their younger siblings as helpers with the exhibits.

  • Please note, our equipment and activities are tailored for ages 0-8, so older siblings should interact with exhibits only in a supportive role to ensure safety and engagement for all.

• Alternative Activities for Older Siblings

  • Older siblings are welcome to relax in our café area, and engage with the following activities:

    • Board Games (we will have a selection).

    • Completing homework.

    • Reading a book.

    • Exploring one of our “Explore Boxes” filled with crafts and STEM challenges designed specifically for older children (simply borrow one at our check-in desk).

• Membership Scenarios

  • You have a 8 month old and a 6 year old. You will come one or two times a week with the baby, but the 6 year old goes to school and will only join you on a weekend or half-day of school occassionally. Purchase a 1-child membership for your baby and pay the $15 sibling drop-in rate on the days you bring your school-aged child.

  • You have a 2 year old, 4 year old and 9 year old. Purchase a 2-child membership for your 2 and 4 year old. Your 9 year old will always be free because our space is designed for 0-8 and 9 year olds may use our café area to relax when they visit, just like adults.

MEMBERSHIPS ARE A GREAT FIT FOR FAMILIES IF…

• You have a little one under 6 years old. Our weekday hours (8:30 AM–5:00 PM) are ideal for children not yet enrolled in school. Older children up to age 8 are welcome during weekdays if they’re being homeschooled.

• You (or a caregiver, grandparent, or babysitter) plan to visit with your child at least once a week.

• Your child would benefit from hands-on, open-ended learning experiences in a less-structured environment.

• You occasionally need time to focus on emails, deadlines, projects, or to simply take a breather, while your child is happily engaged in a “guilt-free” educational space.

• You love meeting for weekly playdates but want to skip the hassle of hosting at home or dealing with activity setup and cleanup. Our space allows adults to relax with café beverages while kids play safely nearby.

Weekend Note: If your child goes to school or has full-times childcare during the week and you expect to mainly visit on weekends, then a membership is worth it if you plan to come EVERY wekeend (at least 4 times a month). If not, then the best deal will be our 5 or 10 packs of play passes, which will be available after our founding membership sale ends.

HOW DO MONTHLY PAYMENTS WORK? As a founding member, you will purchase a membership now, based on the number of kiddos in your family. Please remember memberships can not be transferred or used for children outside of your family. You will be charged for your FIRST month of membership NOW and then your second month will be FREE, because you already paid for it in advance essentially. You’ll have access to soft opening events during the first month and special perks, as we are so thankful to those that are willing to support us early on!

CAN I CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP AFTER A FEW MONTHS? Yes, you can cancel your membership at any time as long as you do it 7 days before your next billing date. Regular memberships require a 3-month commitment, but founding memberships do not. However, we really hope you love STEMspot and stay! :)

CAN I GIFT A FOUNDING MEMBERSHIP? Absolutely. Simply choose the GIFT option below, and you’ll receive a code that can be given to the recipient when they create their user profile. You are gifting one-month, after that, the recipient can choose to continue on their own or can cancel. If you’d like to gift more months, you can add a gift card. WHAT IF I’M NOT READY TO COMMIT WITHOUT VISITING THE SPACE FIRST? We totally get it! It can be hard to commit to something sight unseen. If you’ve been following us on social media or have visited us at any of our booths or pre-opening events, you hopefully have a sense of our mission, goals, and what our space will offer. That said, you’re welcome to wait until we open to visit in person before making your decision. You’ll still be able to purchase a regular membership at that time. Regular memberships include the same perks as founding memberships, but they don’t include the discounted rate, access to pre-opening events, or recognition on the Founding Wall.
